Wastewater Management & Compliance

State, Federal, and other local environmental regulatory agencies have many requirements for facilities to follow in order to achieve compliance with wastewater management. The National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) and State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) Programs are designed to minimize pollution of local waters and to maintain high quality water.  There are also local PDES programs that may apply to your facility. These programs could involve your facility complying with various permitting, monitoring, and reporting requirements.  Environmental Advantage (EA) specializes in wastewater management and our team can assist you with determining and ensuring your facility’s compliance requirements.

Facilities may also be required to have additional plans in place, including a USEPA Slug Control and/or USEPA Toxic Management Plan to address emergency or accidental discharges to the wastewater system.  Permits and plans require regulatory approval, renewals, and updates.  EA will first communicate with your facility to determine which permits and plans are required.  If applicable, we will gather additional information which may include a site inspection, treatment system overview, general site map, and meeting with the appropriate faculty members.  This allows us to thoroughly audit your facility and provide insightful feedback on best management practices.  EA can help to identify and address any deficiencies to ensure that you are implementing an effective environmental compliance program.  The staff at EA have extensive knowledge of USEPA, NYSDEC, Buffalo Sewer Authority (BSA), and other local agencies’ environmental requirements, as well as many years of experience in helping clients.  Contact us to learn how we can help you.  The services that we offer in wastewater management and compliance are listed below.
